Introduction - Building for the Future

Since our club was formed 76 years ago, Rathnure GAA club has become renowned as one of the foremost GAA clubs in the country. We have achieved greatly in that time producing many household names over the years.

Rathnure GAA Club is proud of it's achievements in the past 76 years. However, to take the nostalgic view of our great past without working towards the future would do a terrible injustice to our members and supporters. As time moves on, it becomes a continuous challenge to provide adequate up to date amenities for our young people to play our games.

In order to develop their facilities and skills, we are taking a progressive step in erecting a fully enclosed multi functional indoor Arena providing a synthetic grass playing area, meeting rooms and viewing gallery. This arena will further compliment the facilities that are already available to the people and organisations of our community.

Construction of this new facility began in August 2008.

In order to carry out this work, Rathnure GAA Club will require your assistance. The club has been running a Development Draw for 5 years and a Capital Account is in operation. We have already secured considerable Lotto Funding of €275K, and a grant €60K from Leinster Counsel both of which are a major vote of confidence for this development.

However, the club requires further funding to finance the remainder of the project. This is where your financial assistance is needed. We are running a development draw with euro;20 tickets for sale. These tickets can be purchased from any club member or alternatively here online.
